What does fear GOD mean?

 

Proverbs 8:13

King James Version

13 The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: 

pride, 

and arrogancy, 

and the evil way, 

and the froward mouth, 

do I hate.

There's confusion about what it means to fear GOD.

The enemy has twisted it, to serve his purpose.

But Scripture makes things clear:

2 Timothy 1:7

King James Version

7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; 

but of power, 

and of love, 

and of a sound mind.

Fear GOD when you commit sin, willfully.

Well aware of the consequences, you still keep at it.

There's such a thing as WRATH of GOD.

It's really foolish to test God's love, and patience.

Would you do that to your heavenly FATHER, when he's got other kids to attend to?

That's about 7.9 billion people in the world.

They're our brothers, and sisters, too.

Are we that greedy, and inconsiderate, we don't think of others who may need God, too?

Remember this verse JESUS spoke of, each time you knowingly test God's patience:

John 8:44

King James Version

44 Ye are of your father the devil, 

and the lusts of your father ye will do. 

He was a murderer from the beginning, 

and abode not in the truth, 

because there is no truth in him. 

When he speaketh a lie, 

he speaketh of his own: 

for he is a liar, 

and the father of it.

But don't fear God when you want to ask Him something.

Wanting to ask Him questions about life, about things you can't figure out.

In fact, you can ask God ANYTHING.

How else would a father be, if you can't approach Him?

GOD is patient, loving, merciful, longsuffering.

He is DEFINITELY LOVING.

Have a look at His generosity.

He loves that you seek Him.

Psalm 14:2

King James Version

2 The Lord looked down from heaven 

upon the children of men, 

to see if there were any that did understand, 

and seek God.

Go to Him, as a child would.

JESUS commanded us to:

Matthew 18:3

King James Version

3 And said, 

Verily I say unto you, 

Except ye be converted, 

and become as little children, 

ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

He loved little children coming to Him.

Matthew 19:13-15

King James Version

13 Then were there brought unto him little children, 

that he should put his hands on them, 

and pray: 

and the disciples rebuked them.

14 But Jesus said, 

Suffer little children, 

and forbid them not, 

to come unto me: 

for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

15 And he laid his hands on them, 

and departed thence.

After coming to know the Bible as born again, I understood what fearing GOD meant.

Fear GOD if you sin willfully.

Fear GOD if you challenge His authority.

Fear GOD if you mock His SPIRIT.

Fear GOD if you chose the enemy's side.

Oh, fear Him that much.

Literally quake in your shoes.

You have no idea GOD's POWER.

NEVER challenge God.

NEVER mock Him.

Rather, get to know Him.

LOVE Him.

ADORE Him.

WORSHIP Him.

THANK Him.

ASK Him ANYTHING.

Your heavenly FATHER loves you so.

He waits for you to come around.

He's got forever.

You don't.

2 Peter 3:8

King James Version

8 But, beloved, 

be not ignorant of this one thing, 

that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, 

and a thousand years as one day.

EMBRACE GOD, not technology

 

Luke 16:15

King James Version

15 And he said unto them, 

Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; 

but God knoweth your hearts: 

for that which is highly esteemed among men 

is abomination in the sight of God.

I won't separate you from your phone.

Nor your laptop.

Nor whatever tech occupies you.

They say generations have different styles.

Maybe so.

I think, the enemy know the right things to create.

To keep people absorbed in self.

And not believe God.

GOD is a LIVING GOD.

Machines aren't alive.

They will NEVER be alive.

No matter what the A.I. scientists or engineers create.

Or want you to believe.

Machines will NEVER be alive.

Nothing could be more superficial than a talking robot.

Even if they've made him so lifelike, and human-like.

We are deluding ourselves in thinking so.

They can never choose the right spouse for us, through their apps.

They can never diagnose accurately the disease that ail us.

They can never create organs, to replace our own.

For the LIVING GOD is not in such high-tech methods.

His SPIRIT lives in us.

1 Corinthians 3:16-17

King James Version

16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, 

and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

17 If any man defile the temple of God, 

him shall God destroy; 

for the temple of God is holy, 

which temple ye are.

Exactly why our genes are being mapped out.

To find GOD's secrets.

As if God would allow that.

Well, the LORD will -- to a point.

To serve His purpose.

But let's not delude ourselves into thinking God will spill His secrets to the unbelieving mind.

He gave us His SON, to believe in.

Even if JESUS would be here now, He will not touch technology.

He doesn't need it.

He will merely lead you back to the FATHER.

He will ask you to love GOD.

He will ask you to love each other.

He will ask you to REPENT, and BELIEVE the GOSPEL.

Mark 1:15

King James Version

15 And saying, 

The time is fulfilled, 

and the kingdom of God is at hand: 

repent ye, 

and believe the gospel.

He will ask you to be born again, that you may have GOD's SPIRIT in you.

John 3:5-7

King James Version

5 Jesus answered, 

Verily, verily, I say unto thee, 

Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, 

he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; 

and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, 

Ye must be born again.

Everything of the world seems to be a mockery of what and how God created.

GOD created with purity, perfection, and precision.

Man creates, with profit in mind.

We do not have the purity of JESUS.

Romans 3:23

King James Version

23 For all have sinned, 

and come short of the glory of God;

I am here to get you back with the LORD.

By reading the Bible.

By believing in JESUS.

By loving GOD.

By being born again.

By praying to JESUS for everything.

By waiting for an answer from the SPIRIT of GOD.

And simply, to be obedient to the LORD's commandments.

Every moment spent on addictive apps, is a moment spent away from GOD.

God has forever.

We don't.

May we be blameless, when the time comes.

1 Thessalonians 5:23

King James Version

23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; 

and I pray God your whole spirit and soul 

and body be preserved blameless 

unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

CAUSE of EARLY mistakes

 Luke 16:15

King James Version

15 And he said unto them, 

Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; 

but God knoweth your hearts: 

for that which is highly esteemed among men 

is abomination in the sight of God.

Peer pressure.

That's the cause of our early mistakes.

We give in to the group.

We allow ourselves to fit in.

Even if we're not like others.

Even if we don't like them.

Even if they don't like us.

Even if we don't like their ways.

But we want to be liked.

So we try to fit in.

We want to be cool.

We want to be accepted.

Not that others care.

They just want to have fun.

And if you're not in it, might as well get out.

But you don't choose to.

We give in to peer pressure.

And the wheels of disaster follow closely.

Pregnancies, abortions, alienation from families result.

But what if you lived by the Bible?

What if you listened to the WORD of GOD?

What if you truly loved God?

What if you were taught by your parents to be wise, through Jesus?

What if you were spiritually equipped to handle all pressures, and temptations?

What if you didn't give in?

What if you knew better?

Would you really listen to that wisdom?

Would you listen to your parents?

Would you follow the commandments of God?

What if your parents weren't sterling examples?

Would you still give in to that kind of pressure?

Or would you choose differently?

I hope you do.

For your sake.

And for the LOVE of GOD.
